Traditional weaving

Slovenia, Ljubljana
2 - 4 persons
6 days
November 27 to December 2
from Zürich

Imagine yourself in front of an ancient weaving machine, an ancestral craft that captivated me during my stay in Slovenia.

Fascinated by the gentle clinking of threads intertwined under Mojca's skilled hands, I realized just how special this craft was. Learning the basics of weaving not only helps you understand a tradition, but also stimulates your creativity. Traditional weaving in Slovenia goes back centuries and is an integral part of their rich craft heritage. It was often a skill handed down from generation to generation, with many different patterns and techniques, inspired by local customs and ethnographic motifs specific to each region.

Take an overnight train to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, and let yourself be seduced by the magic of weaving. If you're drawn to handicrafts and love to give handmade gifts at Christmas, why not try your hand at creating a small work of art at a weaving workshop? Give yourself or your loved ones a unique gift, steeped in tradition and your own personal style of craftsmanship.
